If you have left enough time to properly plan and navigate selling your company, you will have more exit options open to you. Using Employee Share Plans to retain key staff and improve employee engagement builds value within the business, but ESOPs can also be used as an exit option. This article looks at the succession process. The case study included gives insight into a client’s experience implementing an employee share scheme called the Peak Performance Trust, for which they were awarded Employee Share Plan of the Year by the Australian Employee Ownership Association.
