In a recent article from Co-operative news the top 50 employee owned businesses were listed and reviewed.

The top 50 is made up of 23 businesses that are 100% employee owned whilst 9 are less than 50% owned, together they represent over 151,000 employees. The list is headed by John Lewis with revenue of £8.5bn and 80,000 employees.

Published by the Employee Ownership Association and prepared by Capital Strategies the report reveals a 4.6% increase in sales and an increase by 3.3% in employee numbers, importantly productivity year-on-year has increased by 4.5%.
